Abstract

The components of 20315-8550 LDS 703 have common proper motion and are included in the Luyten double star catalog. 20315-8550 LDS 703 has had its position angle and separation measured only eight times since the first measure of 1920. The nature of 20315-8550 LDS 703 was further investigated using a current measure and GAIA DR3 data. 20315-8550 LDS 703 was imaged using the Las Cumbres Observatory (LCO) network of telescopes. Calibrated images were obtained and analysed using the software AstroimageJ to determine separation, position angle and delta magnitude. Using the GAIA DR3 data and apparent separation reported in this paper, physical distance separation was estimated. In addition, the Harshaw rating and Buccheim distance probability estimation were calculated. 20315-8550 LDS 703 has an Ebinding value of +2.33 M⊙(km s-1)2 which at this stage favors the pair to be an optical pair that display common proper motion.
