Abstract

WDS14494-6714 DON 680 has a Grade 5 orbit in the Sixth Catalog of Orbits of Visual Binary Stars. The nature of WDS14494-6714 DON 680 was further investigated using a current measure and GAIA DR3 and GAIA DR2 data. WDS14494-6714 DON 680 was imaged at Macquarie University Observatory. Speckle images were obtained and analysed using Speckle ToolBox to determine separation, position angle and delta magnitude. Using GAIA DR3 data and measure of apparent separation the mean physical distance separation, minimum distance and maximum distance between the A and B components was calculated. The angle between each of the components space velocity vectors in 3-dimensions (Nugent metric) was also calculated.
