Four Neglected Double Stars in the WDS

Abstract

The present report details the author’s research and measurements of four neglected double stars in the WDS. They are: 19537-0127 RST 5145; 20026+4044 POP 171; 20240+6222 ES 1854; and 22186+7941 MLR 258. The first is simply a Rossiter double not measured since 1950; the second was given coordinates in the WDS (embodied in its name) that strongly disagree with Popović’s original 1986 publication; the third is an optical double that has changed greatly in configuration since Espin last measured it in 1920; and the fourth may contain errors committed by Muller in his 1972 publication of it. Suggestions for the correction of the WDS are given.
