Further Analysis of WDS 00360+2959 STF 42AB

Abstract

WDS 00360+2959 STF 42AB is listed in the Sixth Catalog of Orbits of Visual Binary Stars with a grade 5 orbit. Further analysis of 00360+2959 STF 42AB was performed using available astrophysical data. The rPM (relative proper motion) metric, angle (theta) between each of the components space velocity vectors in 3D, binding energy (E_binding), system escape velocity and relative 3D space velocity were calculated. The analysis favors that the components of 00360+2959 STF 42AB have a physical association which does not appear to be gravitational in nature.
