Double Star Discovery During an Occultation by the Asteroid (72155) 2000 YM98

Abstract

On July 27, 2024, the authors observed an occultation of UCAC4 328-143830 by asteroid (72155) 2000 from Cupertino, CA, USA. A step event revealed the star to be a previously unknown double star, with both components having magnitudes of 12.9 mag, separated by 2.4 mas.
