Astrometric Observations of WDS 22016+1909 Using the Great Basin Observatory
Abstract
WDS 22016+1909 is a two-component star system with 8 reliable historical measurements. 10 images of the system were acquired for this paper. We measured the angular separation and position angle between the two stars. Measurements were plotted in comparison to the historical data, and an approximate 0.02" change in separation was found between 2000 and 2025. The plotted measurements were best modeled with a polynomial fit. Calculations based on Gaia DR3 data suggest that the stars may not be physical binaries. Further observation is needed to determine the nature of this system.
