Abstract

12148-5146 LDS 394 is a common proper motion pair of stars located in the constellation of Centaurus. The nature of 12148-5146 LDS 394 was further investigated using a current astrometric measure and GAIA DR3 data. Using the Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network calibrated images were obtained and analysed using the software AstroImageJ to determine position angle, separation and delta magnitude. Using GAIA DR3 data and apparent separation reported in this paper, physical distance separation was estimated. In addition, the rPM (ratio of proper motions) metric, Space Velocity Vectors in 3D space, Buchheim distance probability estimation, Ebinding, system escape velocity and relative 3D space velocity were calculated. The analysis indicates that the components of 12148-5146 LDS 394 appear to have a physical relationship which may or may not be also gravitational in nature.
