CCD Astrometric Observations of the Binary Star WDS 05315+5439

Abstract

We present CCD astrometric observations of the binary star system WDS 05315+5439 (STF 711AB, HD 35961) obtained using the Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network. Images acquired in October 2025 were analyzed to measure the θ and ρ of the system. We find mean values of θ = 223.4° ± 0.2° and ρ = 7.44″ ± 0.04″, in good agreement with published orbital ephemerides for this epoch. These results are consistent with the predicted orbital motion of this long-period binary and contribute an additional CCD measurement to the observational record.
